      Narrators Grace Grant and Joe Arden deliver the second in a series featuring a military man turned hitman and the woman he's sworn to protect. The audiobook picks up with Temperance being taken into Kane's protective custody for her own safety despite Kane's having taken a contract on her brother's life. Though the story seems to suffer from intense sexual scenes being built up and not delivered (or cut short), both narrators navigate listeners to a cliff-hanger ending with solid performances.
